Introduction

Hello,

My name is Mr. Rodriguez. I am thrilled to be teaching 6th grade language arts here at O'Hara Park Middle School. Teaching is something that I've wanted to do since I was 15 years old. At the time, I wanted to teach as a means to being a wrestling coach, but as time passed I found myself more interested in the art of teaching than the sport of wrestling. However, I'm still happy to get on the mats from time to time and like to help out the Bulldog wrestlers.

My interests include Martial Arts where I am a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I've trained with some of the best instructors in the world while traveling, and I was lucky enough to compete abroad as well. Now that I'm back home in California I am happy to be a member of Oakley's "My House Gym" where I both practice and teach class. I am proud to be part of the community in Oakley, and I look forward to a productive and fun-filled year with my students and staff at OPS.
